I've been coming here with my kids for well over a decade and have experienced life at El Indio II at its best, and unfortunately its worst. Hence the 3 star rating. The inconsistency drives me crazy.

The food, when done right, is some of the best Mexican style food I've ever enjoyed. With pricing appropriate for the Gresham area, this is a great place for families or friends getting together. Decent Mexican beer selection but a limited drink menu.

I will say, the chips and salsa are worth the trip alone.

Best time to go is between lunch and dinner or after 7 when the din dies down.

Ordered 2 appetizers to go. The taquitos $9.95 and the Coconut Shrimp $11.95. When I got home the taquitos were 3 small taquitos cut in half to make 6 3 inch taquitos on a bed of lettuce with a teeny dollop of sour cream. The coconut shrimp appetizer had 6 small shrimp, frozen like the kind at the grocery store, on a bed of lettuce with a teeny ramekin of sauce. The total for both was $22. I was so furious that a restaurant would even try to pass this off at that price that I immediately drove back there and demanded that they replace what we bought. The manager made some excuse that they had a new cook, blah blah blah! I told him that I may not be Hispanic but this is a disgrace to the Hispanic culture that makes amazing food. Just skip this place. There are so many great authentic Mexican restaurants.

Excellent restaurant with very nice service. Doesn't look like much from outside but the interior looks pretty good. Nice blended margaritas and excellent food.

Very dirty and nobody seems to speak very good English. Doesn't even compare to the original one. And they're kind of slow/lazy. I really was disappointed! I recommend you go to La Castida or anywhere else! I felt ill after eating here. For 2 days my stomach was upset! Was kind of on the pricey side as well! Two thumbs down for me! I won't be contributing any more of my money here!

The tamale was extremely dry, the beans were runny and there was a hair in my husband's burrito. They replaced the burrito, but at that point he didn't really want it. It would've been better to just get a refund.
